# Error: unexpected unclosed action in command

getting a parse error while running hugo server  
my footer.html file is below

I’m unable to reproduce the problem when I:

```bash
git clone --recurse-submodules https://github.com/abrahamalen/alen-abraham.github.io
cd alen-abraham.github.io/
hugo

```

.github/workflows/gh-pages.yml shows you’re building your site with v0.92.0 on gh pages.

What version of hugo are you running _locally_?

You need v0.81.0 or later to handle newlines in the middle of template actions:  
[https://github.com/gohugoio/hugo/releases/tag/v0.81.0](https://github.com/gohugoio/hugo/releases/tag/v0.81.0)

The current version is v0.92.1:  
[https://github.com/gohugoio/hugo/releases/tag/v0.92.1](https://github.com/gohugoio/hugo/releases/tag/v0.92.1)

You should _always_ run the same version locally.

Or 92.1, but update gh pages as well.
