Here’s what I ended up using as a solution to this: {{ range $index, $element := .Site.Data.source.list }} {{ $value := index .Site.Data.supplemental.names $element.nameId }} {{ $value.name }} {{ end }} And it ended up being much simpler than I thought it might be.
