# Content folder structure

I have a content folder structure as this:

```auto
content/
└── Contents
    └── Resources
        └── index.md

```

running hugo it produces

```auto
public
├── contents
│ └── resources
│ └── index.html
└── index.html

```

and I don’t quite understand why

1. the casing is changed
2. there is a second copy of the `index.html` at the root

The following is set by [default](https://gohugo.io/getting-started/configuration/):

> **disablePathToLower (false)**  
> Do not convert the url/path to lowercase.

This is the homepage index.html (ie `yoursite.com/index.html`), which by default Hugo generates (given appropriate layouts). You can add `"home"` in `disableKinds` if you don’t want one generated. Docs at the same page I link to above.
