the input

```auto
Nulla at bibendum lacus. Donec ullamcorper arcu non nisi gravida.<!--more--> Mauris tristique tellus semper felis molestie, non luctus risus fermentum.
```

will produce an empty {{ .Summary }}, but

```auto
Nulla at bibendum lacus. Donec ullamcorper arcu non nisi gravida.
<!--more-->
Mauris tristique tellus semper felis molestie, non luctus risus fermentum.
```

will give “Nulla at bibendum lacus. Donec ullamcorper arcu non nisi gravida.” as a summary, but splits what should be one paragraph into two when the individual post is viewed.

got it. is there a way to target a specific place in a paragraph to split the summary, or do I just rely on truncate?

You must use truncate.
